Our guides exist to help you do a job on your car and choose the part for it.

Sources

When a guide gives advice on safety or maintenance, it names the source: NHTSA, the U.S. Department of Energy, AAA or a tire maker. Quotes are exact, with a link and the date we read the page.

Limits

We say what a product does not do. A 12V inflator is not for truck tires. A new air filter does not raise gas mileage on a fuel-injected car. You should know that before you buy.

Ratings

Star ratings are the averages buyers gave at our retail partner, with the number of ratings beside them.
